Wir versuchten dem Hochnebel über Zürich zu entfliehen, ohne aber all zu lange reisen zu müssen. Die Sommer- und Wintersportstation Atzmännig bot schon bei Ankunft milde Temperaturen und angenehme Herbstsonne. Per Sessellift erreichten wir die Alp Atzmännig auf 1200 m. ü. M., genossen die Aussicht bei einem gemütlichen Picknick und machten uns später auf den Weg zurück ins Tal, wo der Nebel unterdessen alles für sich eingenommen hatte.

You might think that I just ran out of ideas writing and posting pictures about our holiday in Finland. Of course not!

First of all, time was flying and second, I realized that the pictures taken thru with my cell-phone weren’t so good. However, we forgot to take along a USB-cable to connect our digital camera with the notebook so there was no way could show them to you.

But now, we’re back home and some of the pictures with our camera taken can be viewed.

Except for Saturday, the weather was always beautiful and the temperatures very comfortable.

After leaving our cottage, we travelled to the beautiful town of Tallinn and before catching the flight back home, enjoyed another sunny day in Helsinki.

Zu dritt gingen wir heute Heidelbeeren sammeln, was sehr flott von sich ging, da es schön grosse Beeren hatte und die Sträucher gut bestückt waren. Marianne nahm sich dem Kuchenmachen an, währenddessen ich noch ein wenig auf Pilzsuche ging. Auch Nora half beim Backen: sie bevorzugte jedoch Sandkuchen!

Another sunny and warm day in the Ikaalinen area in Finland with temperatures up to 24 degrees.  From the  cottage it’s only a half hour drive to Seitseminen national park, where we hiked to Iso-Kivijärvi. After coming home, I took a five minute walk thru the forest next to our mökki. The mushroom harvest was part of our delicious dinner. (many thanks for Kirjo-Lohi, Auli & Miku!!!

We’re spending our vacation here in Luhalahti at Kyrösjärvi, close to the city of Ikaalinen, which is famous for its SPA.  It’s said to be Scandinavia’s biggest. Our cottage is nested within farmland, the lake and forest. The lake called “Kyrösjärvi” is about 30 km long and 5 km wide and is “only” Finland’s 48th biggest lake.

Zwei Orte, unweit von unserem Daheim, interessant wie auch erholsam: Restaurant-Terrasse mit Spielplatz, Tierhaltung und Bänken mit Aussicht auf den Zürichsee bei der Epilepsieklinik sowie der Botanische Garten.

I’ve just got here and it’s raining heavily. Traffic was awful and it took more than an hour to get from the airport to the hotel.

The Swissotel though is very nice indeed offering spacious and luxurious rooms. Taking a short nap before exploring the neighborhood a bit.
